Angad Bedi takes inspiration from Dhoni

MS Dhoni is one of the most successful captains India has ever produced. His life and his career are immensely inspirational and serve as a bible for many budding cricketers. Angad Bedi is the newest person to follow suit. Recently, Angad shot for Amazon Prime’s Original Show Inside Edge which is based on a popular cricketing tournament. Angad will be seen playing the character of a cricket captain for one of the teams which go through a lot of turmoil.

Angad, in order to understand the character much better in such a situation, took to reading on the life and work of MS Dhoni and watched several of his interviews and cricket matches online.

Speaking on the topic, Angad said “I remember when Dhoni first came to Delhi, our coach of National stadium now known as Dayanchand stadium, asked him “Aap kya karna chahte ho? Confidently he said “Sir main Bharat ka kaptaan banna chahta hoon”.”

To which, he added “He was humble but he was sure of his abilities and that I was drawn to the most. His head was very clear. And it showed in his leadership qualities even when he captained India with grace and dignity. I wanted to bring that grace and dignity in Arvind, which is the character I am playing in Inside Edge.”

His character in the show is that of a positive role model who supports his team extensively, a lot like our Mahi. Dhoni made India win a lot of tournaments and sailed his team through many pressurizing situations, which is something Angad made a note of while prepping for Inside Edge.
