Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to be honored at IFFM Australia

Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), the festival of which Vidya Balan is the face, is Australia‘s biggest annual celebration of Indian cinema and is the biggest Indian film festival outside the Indian soil. This unique cultural event celebrates the incredible diversity that is at the heart of Indian Cinema.

We had reported earlier that ace filmmaker Karan Johar will be delivering a master class to the crowd who will be attending the IFFM, and now, India’s most popular export, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be hoisting the Indian national flag at Melbourne’s iconic pulse point, The Federation Square.

She will be the first Indian woman to do so. In addition, the actress will also be felicitated by the government at the Westpac IFFM Awards Night on the 11th August, for her contribution to global cinema.

Aishwarya was one of the first few people to take Indian cinema internationally. She is known for her beauty, versatility, talent and charm.

Speaking about Aishwarya’s attendance, Mitu Bhowmick Lange, Festival Director, said, “The Indian film festival of Melbourne is honoured to welcome Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as our much loved guest to IFFM this year. She personifies diversity, owing to her global reach having not only worked in Bollywood and Hollywood, but has also paved way for Indian actors in cinema globally.
