Makers of Raabta go easy on the promotions!
The much-awaited Sushant Singh Rajput–Kriti Sanon starrer Raabta is gearing up for its release on the 9th of June. From what we have seen in the trailer, we are of the opinion that the film has a hit written all over it. It’s only a matter of time if we know that the film will be a yet another one in SSR and Kriti Sanon’s filmography to enter the 100 crore club. Other eminent stars like Alia Bhatt and Asin were approached for the role of the female lead, but after they politely declined the part, it landed in Kriti Sanon’s lap.
But, have you wondered why such a promising film is not being promoted aggressively with less than a month left for its release?
Our Kabri Keeda says that it’s the decision of co-producer Homi Adajania, who, along with director Dinesh Vijan has delivered films like Being Cyrus (2005) Cocktail (2012) and Finding Fanny (2014). This time, the duo decided to switch roles as in the past, it has always been Adajania who has been behind the camera and Vijan in charge of the production.
Adajania, who this time is also responsible for the marketing and the promotional aspects of the film, has chosen spend less on promoting the film. His 12-year experience in the industry has taught him that stars like the Khan trio and Akshay Kumar are a must for stellar openings at the box office. He believes that Sushant, who is relatively a newbie, has a long way to go to attain that kind of a summit.
What are your expectations from Raabta? Do let us know!
