CONFIRMED: Alia Bhatt to star in Sadak 2
Back in 1991, Mahesh Bhatt made a bone-chilling film called Sadak, that fearlessly explored the plight of a young woman trapped in the clutches of prostitution. And who can forget Sadashiv Amrapurkar, without whom Sadak would never be the cult it is? It also nearly revived Sanjay Dutt’s diminishing clout at the box-office.
Now, 27 years later, Alia Bhatt might be the leading actor in the sequel, which will be helmed by her sister, Pooja Bhatt. Rumors in the grapevine suggested Bhatt would star in Aashiqui 3 opposite Siddharth Malhotra, but after their separation, the film may never see the lights of the day, at least not with them.
It’s also being rumoured that Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt might play Alia’s parents in the film. An official announcement from Vishesh Films is yet to happen as Bhatt is busy with multiple films like Gully Boy, Shiddat and Bhramastara.
