Ranbir Kapoor to have a double role in Karan Malhotra’s Shamshera?

Ranbir Kapoor is undoubtedly one of the most sought after actors in the Bollywood industry. The actor, who won the best actor award for ‘Sanju’ at the Filmfare Awards 2019, will be next seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra. And now, according to the latest news, the actor is set to portray a very challenging role in his upcoming period drama, Shamshera.

As per a source which was quoted saying to a leading daily, “The film (‘Shamshera’) revolves around a dacoit tribe that is fighting for its rights and independence from the British Raj. Apart from playing the protagonist, Ranbir might also be seen as the central character’s father. He has been shooting for both roles simultaneously. This is the first time in his 12-year-long career so far that Ranbir will play a double role.”          

Coming back to the movie, the Indian adventure drama directed by Karan Malhotra will also feature Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles. The movie is set to release on 31st July next year.
