BIRTHDAY SPECIAL: Which is Ranveer Singh’s WORST film of all time?
Ranveer Singh may be an incredible actor capable of pulling-off the most complex of roles with ease! But there have been instances when he has stuck like a sore thumb and his films have drastically failed to create any impact on fans and critics alike. Even though we adore him, we still can’t forget the atrocities he unleashed on us in his otherwise celebrated career:-
1. Ladies VS Ricky Bahl (2011)
In a film supposedly based on conman-ship, what we got was an over-sentimental tale of love and heartbreak. Only in the world of YRF you can expect a callous conman to fall in love with his target. Someone from the film should see Ocean’s Eight, where the girls unashamedly trap a harmless fella for a robbery he never committed. Ranveer Singh, who shone in Band Baaja Baaraat, reunited with the same director to give us his first BAD film!
2. Gunday (2014)
Many people re-named the film Ganday. Despite a crackling chemistry between Ranveer and Arjun Kapoor, the film was nothing but a stale version of those potboilers we left behind in the 70’s. Even a fantastic soundtrack and a magnetic Irrfan Khan couldn’t save the film from being a BIG yawn. And guess what? This is one of the lowest rated Indian films on IMDb.
3. Kill Dill (2014)
The title song was a complete hoot! The casting of Govinda as the film’s antagonist was nothing but genius! But the film was nothing but a DISASTER! Bland, Boring and Banal, Kill Dill had Ranveer in a gaudy hairstyle and puppy-dog face, grinning with his friend, wagging before his crush and frightened when in front of his boss People’s only question to him after watching this was- Why?
4. Befikre (2016)
Aditya Chopra, like he always does, returned to direction after eight years. This was his detox film, a much-grander and much-bigger version of YRF’s dud, Neal ‘N’ Nikki. Coincidentally, both the films released on the same day (9th December), were in the limelight for multiple smooches and were nothing but sheer stupid! Ranveer Singh appeared as a brand ambassador of Red Bull and Vaani Kapoor that of Botox. Chopra failed miserably to appeal to the gen-next and failed to realize mere titillation by sex doesn’t guarantee you commercial success. And not every actor can pull-off 23 smooches in one film, unless his name is Emraan Hashmi.
And did you notice, all of Ranveer’s flops are produced by the same banner that made him a star? Yes YRF, we are talking about you!
