AANKHEN 2: Sushant & Kartik join Amitabh Bachchan in this thriller

Amitabh Bachchan as Vijay Singh Rajput sent a chill down our spine with his psychotic portrayal of a fired bank manager in the 2002 thriller, Aankhen, one of the only respectable heist dramas in Hindi Cinema. 16 years later, Big B is all set to be back with the film’s sequel. Although, Aankhen 2 was announced back in 2016 and was slated for a Diwali 2017 release, a massive legal battle ensued between director Anees Bazmee and producer Gaurang Doshi, and Doshi was barred from producing the film further. And now it seems even Bazmee won’t be going behind the camera to helm the sequel. In fact, the whole cast has undergone a major change.

The news here is that Sushant Singh Rajput and Kartik Aaryan have joined the Shahenshah in the second part, but will they team up with him or against him, that remains a mystery and we’ll have to wait for the film to release to know the answer. A source stated, “The main cast has been almost locked. Mr Bachchan is still the main lead in the film. He plays the main antagonist again. But joining him will be Sushant Singh Rajput and Kartik Aaryan. The makers wanted two popular young actors and we hear, they are in advanced talks with both Sushant and Kartik. They have verbally given their nod but the modalities and the remunerations need to be worked out.”

Let’s hope the concept and the story of the sequel is as engaging and thrilling as the earlier film’s plot. I mean who would believe three blind men could rob a bank?
