Akshay Kumar’s Toilet- Ek Prem Katha beats Salman’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan in China
Akshay Kumar’s Toilet- Ek Prem Katha still remains his biggest hit, raking in over 133 crores at the box-office last year. It was, however, nowhere close to the domestic collections of Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which whooped in around 320 crores. But box-office can be totally unpredictable, be it in India or elsewhere, and we have just seen yet another unpredictability of the same.
Actually, Bajrangi Bhaijaan set the box-office on fire in China and even surpassed the collections of Dangal and Secret Superstar, but Akshay’s Toilet- Ek Prem Katha has gone past the opening weekend of Salman’s film and created a bigger havoc. If the opening weekend of Bajrangi was 55.22, Toilet has earned around 61.04, which is huge! The momentum the film has generated in the country only indicates the fact that it has the potential to go beyond Hindi Medium, Dangal and Secret Superstar, which are the highest grossers there.
Here are the total collections of the film so far, by ace trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Have a look right here:-
#ToiletEkPremKatha slackens its pace on Mon in China… Although the decline is 45.96% on Mon [vis-à-vis Fri], a higher number would’ve ensured a strong Week 1 total…
Fri $ 2.35 mn
Sat $ 3.56 mn
Sun $ 3.18 mn
Mon $ 1.27 mn
Total: $ 10.36 mn [₹ 69.91 cr]#TEPK #ToiletHero— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) June 12, 2018
