This is how Deepika Padukone is trying to compete with Priyanka Chopra!

Deepika Padukone has redefined success in Hindi Cinema in the last half-a-decade. Establishing her position in the industry not only as a dazzling diva but also a fine actor with the 2012 Cocktail, there has been no looking back for the leggy lass. Right from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani to Chennai Express to Piku to Bajirao Mastani to Padmaavat, she has delivered one blockbuster after another. Her Hollywood debut, xXx: Return Of Xander Cage may have fizzled out quicker than a bottle of soda, she still managed to turn a few heads in the International circuits.

However, the grass is always greener on the other side. The actress may have it all, she may be the highest paid actress in Bollywood currently and also planning to tie the knot with beau Ranveer Singh in a clandestine yet grand wedding at Lake Como, Italy this year, she still yearns for everything another actress has. Yes, we are talking about Priyanka Chopra. Thanks to the media and the paparazzi, both the actors have been pitied against each other ever since they both made their International debuts. PeeCee’s Baywatch wasn’t watched by too many people but thanks to Quantico and her love-affair with the American singer Nick Jonas, she became the talk of the town.

A young filmmaker, on the condition of anonymity, stated, “The rivalry between Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone is no secret. For some very strange reason everything that Priyanka gets, Deepika also wants. We don’t know why this should be so. Deepika has as much success and stardom as Priyanka. What she doesn’t have is Priyanka ‘s international fame. Now when Priyanka has got herself an American fiancée, Deepika seems to be looking at ways to upstage her arch-rival.”

It has been a while since we saw them in a Hindi film. Deepika, after the success of her last release, hiked her price and hence, no filmmaker wanted to cast her in his/her film. However, it’s being reported that she may team up with Raazi’s director Meghna Gulzar for her next which might be on the lines of the late Sridevi’s ChaalBaaz. On the other hand, PeeCee, after a two-year hiatus, will finally star in a Hindi film, The Sky Is Pink.
