SHOCKING! No Veere Di Wedding in Pakistan

Veere Di Wedding, which is all set to arrive in the cinemas this Friday, on the 1st of June, has been banned in Pakistan. It seems our neighboring country is on a banning spree as far as Hindi films are concerned. Films like Tiger Zinda Hai, Raazi and Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran were banned as well.

The members of the Censor Board in Pakistan saw the film on Tuesday and decided not to screen it in the cinemas owing to obscene content and vulgar dialogues. Danyal Gilani, Chairman of the Central Board of Film Censors, said this about the film, “Members of the CBFC unanimously decided to not allow the film for public exhibition in the cinemas as its content flouts the Censorship of Film Code 1980.”

Well, the four leading ladies of the film have repeatedly said in their interviews how Veere Di Wedding could be a landmark film and inspire other filmmakers to foray into this genre. So this decision by the Pakistani Censor Board might come as a shock for the entire team. That said and done, the film is definitely releasing in India on the 1st of June, 2018.
