CONFIRMED! Ajay Devgn & Alia Bhatt to star in Ram Charan & Junior NTR’s RRR

SS Rajamouli’s RRR, starring Ramcharan and Jr NTR, had been in the news since the few months. As per some earlier reports, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn was reportedly roped in for a crucial role in the film. Now, the latest news has been confirmed by none other than Rajamouli himself, the actor has agreed to play a part in the movie.

Talking about in a recent press conference in Hyderabad, the Baahubali director was quoted saying, “Ajay Devgn has accepted to do a strong role in the film, he agreed to do it instantly and allocated his dates whenever we needed. He will be seen in flashback portions of the plot.” Though the details about his role are kept under wraps it is reportedly said that Devgn’s flashback portions will be set in early 1800s. The official Twitter account of the movie also welcomed the star aboard. On the other hand, after so much of speculations, it is also confirmed that Alia Bhatt has been signed in to play the female lead role opposite Ram Charan. Talking about it, they said, “The lookout for a female star to play the lead opposite Ram Charan and Jr NTR was on for a while but now they have finally locked Alia Bhatt post her extraordinary performance in Gully Boy. It’s for the first time that Alia will be working with the team and they’re very thrilled about it.”

Bhatt, on the other hand, also confirmed the news and stated, “Working with Rajamouli sir is a big big tick off my bucket list.. Also to be alongside Ram Charan and Jr. NTR is an absolute honour.. I am very excited about this experience and also working in the south for the first time… I begin shoot in less than a month.. I will be playing the role of Sita, and the film is set in 1920s backdrop.” Check out her tweet:-

The film is all set to release on July 31, 2020, but if you remember, Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera is slated to release the next day. So will it be Ranbir v/s Alia next year at the box-office?
