20 Years of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai: Will Salman Khan attend the celebration?

Karan Johar’s directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai completes 20 glorious years today. It became one of the first few Hindi films to debut at the U.K Top 10 Box-Office. Regarded as the Bollywood film to put Hindi Cinema on the Global Map, the film gave us multiple memories to cherish, various scenes to enjoy and three central characters to savor. Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan), Anjali (Kajol) and Tina (Rani Mukerji) became the characters for the ages.

Speaking about the film and its completion of two decades, Johar recently stated, “I can’t believe I have been around for two decades in the industry. I also can’t believe that KKHH is 20 years old. I feel like I was a different person then… more innocent, a little more lost, a lot less confident. Also, I was less sure of what I wanted to do. But that innocence resulted in some kind of pure work. None of us now, after having done so much, are capable of the same purity. When I look at KKHH today, my first thought is, ‘What was I thinking?’ (laughs). It doesn’t seem like something I can identify with myself. However, it worked because it connected with that generation as well as the family audience.”

However, there was one more character who was equally memorable and had the audiences’ sympathy- Aman, played by Salman Khan. The film gave him his only Filmfare Award till date- The Best Supporting Actor (Male)! And coming to Khan, it seems he won’t be able to attend the celebrations that are being held tonight. He wrapped up the Abu Dhabi schedule of Bharat yesterday, so attending the event may not be an uphill task for the star. However, it seems he’s unlikely to be there, but we hope he makes it.
