A typical Bollywood movie is mainly focused on the hero and the heroine of the film. But many times we forget that a villain in the film is also very important. Like just think if there was no villain then who would create problems in heroes life. Most of the main lead dominates the grey character in the film but over the past few years the negative character have also proved themselves and have even performed better than the main leads.

Shah Rukh Khan – Daar
Darr released in a year where Bollywood stars used to not experiment with their roles in films. But Shah Rukh Khan went out of his comfort zone and played an antagonist in the film. He portrayed the role of an obsessive lover. This marked his first collaboration with legendary director Yash Chopra. Shah Rukh Khan received the Filmfare Award as the best villain for the film.

Ranveer Singh – Padmaavat
Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat is currently the talk of the town. The actor has impressed everyone with his cruel and evil act on the big screen. Though Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s role in the film was also appreciated but it was Ranveer Singh who stole the show in the magnum opus periodic drama.

Riteish Deshmukh – Ek Villian
Riteish Deshmukh had mainly entertained the audience with his comic acts in the movies. But he impressed everyone with his portrayal of a psychopath antagonist in Ek Villian. This was the first time when the audience witnessed Riteish in such a character on the big screen. As a result of this Riteish Deshmukh even won many awards for his role.

Saif Ali Khan Omkara
Saif Ali Khan who is known to play chocolate boy on the big screen impressed everyone with his role of Langda Tyagi in Omkara. Though being a multi starrer film Saif overshadowed everyone’s performance in the film winning the Filmfare Best Villain Award.

John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan – Dhoom Franchise
The Dhoom Franchise is known for its villain. Though Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra are in the main leads of the franchise the film has always been praised for the villains of the series. The first movie had John Abraham, the second had Hrithik Roshan while the third had Aamir Khan playing the antagonists.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar will be playing an evil badass scientist Dr. Richard in Rajnikanth’s 2.0.
