Mother’s Day Special – Bollywood Mummy Awards!

See our most favourite onscreen Bollywood mothers on this Mother’s Day!

Fictional or Real, mothers are an essential part of our lives. They’re their own superheroes and ours too. From teaching us how to use a spoon to giving us heart-warming hugs that could heal every heartbreak. And then we have our very own Bollywood Ma’s who have the ability to make us laugh and cry and feel their love through the silver screen.

So this mother’s day, Bollyworm is giving out awards for our most favourite onscreen mummies!

Farida Jalal – Sweetest Mummy Ever Award

Farida Jalal has played the role of a mother in Bollywood more than the fingers on our hands! From playing Simran’s mother in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge to Ajay’s mother in Dil To Pagal Hai and more – Farida Jalal has been the sweetest mummy ever!

Kirron Kher – Most Overreacting Mummy Award

Om Shanti Om, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Main Hoon Na and Dostana are probably her most iconic roles as a mother. Kirron Kher has all the Bollywood masala and overreacting skills one needs. Her quirky dialogues and crazy expressions have won our hearts completely!

Supriya Pathak – Badass Mummy Award

We’ll be lying if we say we didn’t get scared when we saw her Supriya Pathak in all her badass glory in Ram-Leela. Those looks could kill, and they did! And now, we cannot wait to see her in one more badass avatar in Sarkar 3!

Rakhee Gulzar – Most Emo Mummy Award

When we think Rakhee Gulzar, our minds immediately jump to the 1995 film, with an overly emotional mother of two sons saying “Mere Karan Arjun Aayenge!” If that doesn’t prove emo mummy, we don’t know what does!

Reema Lagoo – Mummiest Mummy Ever Award

No one can play the role of a mummy quite like Reema Lagoo. She’s got the sweetness and the strictness along with equal proportions of swag – Face it,  Kal Ho Na Ho, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, and Hum Saath Saath Hai would be incomplete without her!
