Bollywood Actors who do the most Charity!

Bollywood isn’t only about the glitz and the glamour. And an actor’s otherwise claustrophobic life isn’t merely restricted to movie sets, award functions and pancake makeup in perpetuation. A lot of actors are involved in a lot of charitable work as well, some amplify it on social media, some do it surreptitiously. Here are a few names:-

1. Salman Khan

The man who’s known more for his charitable work than his cinematic work, Salman Khan was one of the earlier celebs who invested and infused his time and money into charity. His Being Human Foundation, active since 2007, is involved in almost every sector from education to heath to medicine. And Khan is regarded as the pioneer of such a noble cause.

2. Aamir Khan

His silences speak louder than his worlds. Unlike the aforementioned Khan, he’s the one who believes in clandestine charity. For all of you who didn’t know, the actor donated over 25 lacs to the 2013 Uttarakhand Flood Victims and 11 lacs to the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ rural water conservation programme. He’s the Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and surely deserves to be one!

3. Shah Rukh Khan

He’s not only the King of Bollywood but the King Of Charity as well, albeit a silent one. Did you know almost a decade back the actor used to charge 5,000 for an interview which were later donated to to the NGO’s? He’s the Board of Director of the Make A Wish Foundation that is actively involved in the well-being and treatment of children suffering from fatal diseases. Well done, Mr. Khan! Plus, he became the only Indian to win an award by UNESCO for Charity, now that’s quite a feat!

4. Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar recently donated over 90 lacs to the families of the Maharashtra farmers that were severely hit with drought. When asked about the same, he politely declined to comment! Quite a humble Khiladi, we must say!
