BIRTHDAY SPECIAL: Pritam’s 5 most memorable albums

Pritam Chakraborty, or Pritam, as he writes in his films, celebrates his birthday today. One of the most successful and busy music composers in the business, he started his journey all the way back in 2001 and has created a massive name for himself. So without much ado, let’s have a look at his 5 most memorable albums:-

1. Dhoom (2004)

Even though the soundtrack was criticized on the grounds of plagiarism, it still remains one of his coolest works till date. The Dhoom Machale track became such a big rage that some people remembered the film only because of the tune.

2. Jab We Met (2007)

There was a song for every mood in the film! Want to dance? Listen to Nagada Baja and Mauja Hi Mauja. Want to rediscover yourself? Listen to Hum Jo Chalne Lage and if you ever fall in love, listen to Yeh Ishq Haaye and Tumse Hi! All in all, a complete audio track. But it was Mauja Hi Mauja that became people’s favorite!

3. Barfi! (2012)

One of the rare soundtracks of the director where he didn’t look to the West for inspiration, Barfi’s music was both soothing and scintillating, particularly the song, Phir Le Aaya Dil and Pritam deservingly won his first Filmfare Award for the Best Music director.

4. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016)

Channa Mereya was the heartbreak anthem of the year 2016 and still is! And Pritam also gave us the first ever Happy Break up song of Hindi Cinema, a rare song that celebrates and not curses a wrecked relationship. It was a fantastic soundtrack and possibly one of his best!

5. Life in a… Metro (2007)

A heartfelt and scathing take on complexed relationships, the music of Life in a… Metro was equally haunting and enchanting. The song In Dino became one of the most popular songs of 2007 and made Pritam one of the most dependable music directors of Tinsel Town and a Hit Machine.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Dangal, Jannat, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, Cocktail and Jagga Jasoos(where he was awarded another Filmfare Award for Best Music Director)
