Saqib Saleem leaves us teary eyed in his new short film

We have always seen female actresses doing classical dances on screen, but in current times one of the male lead actors recently took up the challenge of essaying the role of a Kathak dancer. Well, we are talking about the young talent Saqib Saleem, who’s new short film, titled Aamad, that has just released on the digital platform.

The film is produced and released by Terribly Tiny Talkies and is directed by Neeraj Udhwani who has previously worked with Saqib as the writer of his debut film, Mere Dad Ki Maruti. The short explores the emotional yet strained relationship that the father and son share. The film explores a story about a father who is a Kathak dancer and how his son is embarrassed by his father’s art because he was bullied by his friends as a young boy practicing a classical art form which was tagged feminine.

He moves on and distances from his father, growing up to becoming a corporate man himself. But due to some unforeseen situation involving the kind of critical health his father had, he comes back and does that one final performance for the love of the art that his father has.
