Zaira Wasim’s open apology letter on Facebook and the controversy that came with it

Zaira Wasim has been receiving accolades for her perfect portrayal of young Geeta Phogat in the film ‘Dangal’. She was not just appreciated by the critics but the viewers too!

Reportedly, Zaira had met Jammu and Kashmir CM, Mehbooba Mufti on January 14, 2017, and had been receiving threats from fundamentalist separatists since then. After the turn of unfortunate events that took place, the 16-year-old posted an open apology on her Facebook account.

The letter reads as:

After several hours the actress removed her letter from the social media and posted

Regarding my last post, I have no idea why this has become such a big issue. I just wanted to make sure that I did not hurt anyone’s feelings and all of a sudden it has been turned into national news. Again and again, I am telling people that I have not been forced into anything by anyone. This was post was not meant against anyone, just wanted to make sure that people were not hurt by what I was doing. From media to everyone else, please don’t blow this out of proportion. Neither was I forced nor am I against anyone. Hopefully, this post just stops this once and for all.”

Social media can be a really bad place and the troll on this 16-year-old started aggressively, Celebs like Javed Akhtar, Wrestler Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat, Anurag Kashyap have come to her aid and reacted strongly to the unreasonable backlash she’s been receiving.

We hope people understand that she is just a child and they should just cut her some slack!
