WOW! After Ranveer Singh’s Simmba, Rohit Shetty’s next may star Akshay Kumar

What happens when a star who redefined action on the celluloid teams up with a filmmaker who’s oeuvre is derived and driven by the same genre?  We are talking about the possible union of Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty! So when two similarly driven artists meet, expect a BLOCKBUSTER and nothing less! Buzz is that after the release of Ranveer Singh’s Simmba, Shetty is planning to make his next film with Kumar, and it will be an out-and-out action potboiler.

A source stated, “Rohit will be directing none other than the action superstar Akshay Kumar in his upcoming film. The film is likely to go on floors next year in the month of May and June. Akshay, who was planning to do Hera Pheri sequel next has given away his dates to Rohit. The reason being, the third instalment of Hera Pheri franchise has been delayed a bit.”

It seems Kumar will have a busier 2019 as he has as many as four films lined-up for releases, which is not very common for the actor. First in line is Anurag Singh’s Kesari, produced by Karan Johar. Next is Good News, again a Dharma film with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. Mission Mandal will be his third release of the year and he’ll wrap it up with Housefull 4 on Diwali.
