Will Ranveer Singh play an EVIL character yet again in Takht?
Quite recently, Ranveer Singh dared to go dark for the first time in his career in order to portray the menacing Alauddin Khilji in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed Padmaavat. Reports have it that during the time Singh was into the Khilji space, he sought the help of a psychiatrist in order to get out of that space. However, nothing has been confirmed on that part yet, although Ranveer did confess that he did end up calling his family and friends so that he can come back to being the quirky and fun-loving Ranveer that he is.
And, just today, Karan Johar officially announced the title and the genre of his next directorial/production venture, titled Takht.
Check out the caption of Karan Johar’s Takht announcement Instagram post to get a clear idea about the world of the period drama:
As you can see, Takht is the story of ambition, greed, battle, love, succession and betrayal, amongst many other things. Given the kind of space that Takht belongs to, expect all the members of its lead cast to essay gray characters. And, when it comes to character prep, can ANYONE beat Ranveer Singh? The man is famous to go the extra mile if he is about to play a challenging character.
If our Ranveer Baba really went through hell as was reported during the Padmaavat days and if Singh will be stepping into the shoes of a dark character once again for real, we are sincerely worried for him.
