Will Kareena Kapoor star in Shah Rukh Khan’s Salute?
A lot of conjectures had been floating around ever since the biopic of India’s first man on the moon, Rakesh Sharma, titled Salute, had been announced. Earlier, Aamir Khan was in talks for the titular role but there were reports that the logistics didn’t exactly fall into place between him and the makers.
After Aamir Khan’s exit from Salute, the other Khan that the makers brought in to portray the role of Rakesh Sharma was none other than Shah Rukh Khan. However, Priyanka Chopra was also reported to be the first choice for the leading lady and in fact, she had also reportedly given a verbal commitment of sorts, but, for reasons best known to the makers, miss Chopra is no longer a part of the cast as of now.
But, Salute is making headlines again, thanks to a yet another name being rumoured to be the leading lady, it’s nobody else but Shah Rukh Khan’s co-star from Asoka, Ra.One, and Don, Kareena Kapoor Khan. If she agrees to be a part of this mega-ambitious project, Shah Rukh and Kareena could be seen pushing the envelope again in terms of technology and special effects, after Ra.One, which didn’t exactly fare the way everyone expected but did win a National Award for the Best Special Effects in 2012.
Directed by Mahesh Mathai, Salute is likely to go on floors in September this year, where Shah Rukh Khan will begin shooting for the first schedule and resume shoot in January 2019.
