Will 2.0 be able to break the records of Prabhas’ Baahubali & Aamir Khan’s Dangal?
Rajinikanth & Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 is all set to smash the record created by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion. This is how! That epic period drama opened in over 6500 screens across the country, this Sci-Fi adventure is all set to conquer around 6800! Since the film will be releasing in three languages- Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, the no. of screens seems justified. But will this be able to surpass the records created by the Prabhas starrer?
The combined collections of both the Baahubali films worldwide stand at a jaw-dropping 2000 crores. And this ambitiously crafted classic is still embedded in people’s consciousness. However, die-hard fans of Thalaiva feel 2.0 has the potential to rewrite box-office history and even beat the collections of both the Baahubali films.
The other major film it will have to battle and tackle is Aamir Khan’s Dangal, which stands tall at around 1800 crores across the globe. And given the actor’s unparalleled and gargantuan stardom in China, competing with this wrestling drama will prove to be an uphill task for the Shankar directorial.
Well, if Khan has China, Rajini has Japan under his control. His stardom transcends the four corners of the nation and spreads over countries like the U.S, U.K and Malaysia too.
But lastly, it isn’t about an actor’s clout anymore! If it were, Thugs Of Hindostan wouldn’t have had to bite the dust at the ticket windows. Beyond the imaginative VFX and audacious scale, 2.0 will also have to make an impact for its storytelling and narrative. Let’s wait for the 29th of November and FINALLY see what the team has in store for the audiences.
