WHOA! Tamil actress Sangeetha Balan faces arrest over prostitution racket

For all those who think the film and television industry is all about glitz and glamour, they are certainly wrong. Beneath the style and sizzle, lies a dark, discomforting truth. In a shocking turn of events, Tamil TV actress Sangeetha Balan was arrested on Saturday for running a prostitution racket in a resort on the outskirts of Chennai. She wasn’t alone, but was arrested with her partner, Sathish, and the court has now sent them to jail for 15 days.

Inspector Mahalakshmi, who conducted the raid at the resort, said, “While we raided a private resort at Panaiyur on the East Coast Road following an information from a private source, we found four young girls involved in prostitution.” She added, “During the course of the inquiry, the girls revealed that Sangeetha Balan was the mastermind behind this sex racket and lured them as sex workers. The retrieved girls are the junior artists in serials and cinema… One is from outside the state.”

Sangeetha has been acting since 1996 and for her to succumb to such a shameful and heinous act is both appalling and despicable.
