Anil Kapoor is undoubtedly one of the most versatile actors of Bollywood. The actor, who entered the intriguing world of films in the 80’s, have been ruling the industry for almost 35 years now by being his Jhakaas self.
As is well known, the Race 3 star has worked frequently with the late legend Sridevi. The duo starred in as many as 13 films, most of which have seen stupendous success at the box office. That number could have been 14 had Anil Paaji agreed to star opposite Sridevi one more time in the super hit that was Chandni, a film which eventually saw Rishi Kapoor pitted opposite the first female superstar of Bollywood.
Wondering why did the Fanney Khan of Bollywood did not end up doing the film? In a recent interview, he opened up on the same by saying that, “I had fully said no to Chandni, because I didn’t want to sit in a wheelchair.” You see in the second half of the film, the character that the actor was offered becomes a paraplegic.”
He further revealed a personal reason which left him more conscious towards selecting films, “I’d had an accident, and was bedridden, nursing my leg, for two-and-half months. It was a turning point in my life. I was running fast, but going nowhere. I just wanted films, one after other – doing films that I didn’t care much for.”
Well, although we believe that missing out on a strong content-based film like Chandni did not exactly turn out to be a wise decision, we think we totally understand as to why you gave the Sridevi-starrer a miss, Mr. Kapoor.
