When Aamir Khan GAINED from Sanjay Dutt’s jail sentence!

Bollywood buffs and the recently release Sanju testify to the fact that the original rock star of Bollywood, Sanjay Dutt has led a really colorful life, to speak modestly of it. If you are not abreast with the kind of episodes that have taken place in the life of Sanjay Dutt, you must see Sanju right away! As it does touch upon almost all of the events of his life; From the usage of drugs to his relationships and from his links to the underworld to his incarcerations, Sanju has it all!

But, did you know that the first time Dutt was put behind bars back in ’95 indirectly ended up benefiting one of the biggest superstars we have today, Aamir Khan?

Wondering how? It so happened that back in ’95, Dutt was shooting for a film called Kissa Kartoos, where he was essaying the part of the legendary Mangal Panday and was pitted opposite Manisha Koirala. But, then came in the jail sentence which our beloved Sanju had to serve and the film was eventually shelved. But, the film was resurrected in 2004 and the makers of the period drama roped in Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji, Ameesha Patel and Kirron Kher. And, that’s how the commercially and critically acclaimed Aamir Khan-starrer Mangal Panday: The Rising came to be!

It’s just funny how someone’s loss becomes the other’s gain, right?
