WHAT?! Akshay Kumar signs yet another period film!

It seems like the Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar has become quite fascinated with the idea of doing period films off late, which is something that one can easily pinpoint if he/she takes a hard look at the list of the films that we are going to see him in next. (Such as Gold, Housefull 4 and Kesari)

But now, reports online claim that Akki has signed yet another period drama with Yash Raj Films, for which he will step into the shoes of Chanakya. For the uninitiated, Chanakya is an Indian economist, author, jurist, philosopher, royal advisor and a mentor to Chandragupta Maurya, who founded the Maurya Empire during the ancient times. The film, which is yet to have a title, will be directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who himself played the character of Chanakya back in 1991 in the television show that went by the same name.

Reportedly, the film is currently in its pre-production phase and the makers will soon lock in the rest of the cast with yet another A-Lister, which we think will play the part of Chandragupta Maurya in the film. It is being said that the sets for the film will be erected in February 2019 and the makers and are eyeing an early 2020 release.
