Vishal Bharadwaj, the mastermind behind the 1944 WW2-Based movie Rangoon has once and for all shot down rumors the his work being a biopic, and ends the buzz that has been humming around the movie about it being a biopic.
The movie sure has the ethos of the turbulent 1940’s era, a bunch of historic references, and the female lead reflecting someone what has gone down in the books of history by the name of Fearless Nadia, but that is as far as it goes. Its nothing but a love triangle within these times, as per the clarification provided by the ace filmmaker.
“It certainly doesn’t follow the life of any of the various actresses of that era be it that of Fearless Nadia, Miss Zebunissa, Miss Padma or Ramola. ‘Rangoon’ is a period drama that has a love triangle in its centre, its not at all a biopic.” Says Bharadwaj.
As per the news prevalent at that time, Bharadwaj did have plans though, of making a biopic on Fearless Nadia, where the rumoured developments even included the Omkara maker almost signing German Actress Franka Potente, but the news very soon ran out of fizz and an end it was assumed.
