Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor passes away at the age of 79

Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor breathed his last today in Mumbai. The actor was unwell for the past few years. His conditions had become more critical in the past few days and his sudden demise has left the whole industry in shock.

Actor Mohit Marwah took to Twitter and shared the unfortunate news. He wrote: “My favourite shashi kapoor rests in peace today will be remembered always.”

The actor was born in Calcutta on 18 March 1938. Shashi started his film career as a child actor. He has worked in over 175 films as an actor. He has even worked as a producer and director.

In 2011 he was awarded the Padma Bhushan and in 2015 he received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
