Varun Dhawan to star in the remake of Govinda’s Coolie No.1!

We reported a few weeks ago that Varun Dhawan, David Dhawan and Rohit Dhawan would be launching their own production house and remaking some of Dhawan Sr.’s most successful and popular films of the 90’s, mostly those No.1 films. They, in fact, plan to call the company No.1 productions. And the first film they tend to remake is Coolie No.1, the 1995 comedy starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor.

And who else but Varun to fill in the shoes of Chi Chi in today’s times! The actor has reportedly given his nod to star in the remake and will soon start his prep after he’s done with the films that lie in his kitty. However, the actor has often been criticized for trying to ape Govinda and Salman Khan in his films. Given the brickbats he has received for being over-the-top and incessant hamming, will this be a wise decision? And will the audiences accept him in the remake of a film that made Govinda the man of the masses back in the day? Let’s see!
