Tiger Zinda Hai: it’s going to be Salman Khan vs Nawazuddin Siddiqui
It’s almost a rule of Bollywood now that if you have a Salman Khan film around the corner, you DARE NOT attempt to release a film around it, for it will bulldoze over whatever expectations you will have out of your film, even if it’s Oscar material.
But, although we were well aware that Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai will be facing competition down south, someone from Bollywood itself has gathered up the courage to land up on the same day as Bhai on the theatre screens.
That gutsy man is none other than Salman’s two-time co-star Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who will be releasing his film Monsoon Shootout in the Christmas weekend of 2017, four years after the film stopped screening at International movie festivals.
According to sources, “No other date is available before that. Besides, after December 22, there are no releases for 2 weeks and the makers want to cash in on that. Also, the audience for Salman starrer and Monsoon Shootout are completely different, there won’t be any clash as such.”
Monsoon Shootout is a crime thriller film starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vijay Verma, Neeraj Kabi and Tannishtha Chatterjee. This film is about a policeman struggling with a life-altering decision of wanting to shoot a particular suspect or not.
Directed by Amit Kumar, who earlier made an award-winning short film – Bypass, which was the first time that Nawazudin Siddiqui and Irrfan Khan were seen together.
