This is how Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan can curb sexual harassment!

Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan are not merely actors; they have their own major production houses in the names of Red Chillies Entertainment and Aamir Khan Productions respectively. And when you happen to be the honchos of two of the leading production houses in the industry, their responsibilities only double up. And they aren’t only restricted to the financial or legal matters but personal issues of the staff as well. And a woman’s safety ought to be of prime importance.

Actually, given the rapid rise in the number of sexual harassment cases in India, and a majority of them within the glamour industry, the Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Maneka Gandhi, has sent a request to the leading production houses of the industry, requesting them to establish anti-sexual harassment cells to ensure women’s safety. From SRK’s Red Chillies to Aamir’s Aamir Khan Productions, she has written to almost every major producer. It also includes YRF, Dharma and Excel Entertainment.

Talking about the same, Gandhi said that seven of the 24 houses have complied with the request. She also stated, “As responsible employers, all are obliged to follow the law of the land. I urge the Bollywood production houses to do so and submit a report on the internal complaints committee set up by them. Together, we need to ensure a safe workplace for our women.”

That’s truly an applause-worthy initiative, let’s see whether Bollywood comes together to fight this menace or not!
