Tamil actor Siddharth slams Ranveer Singh’s ad as sexist!
Siddharth is one actor who has never shied away from voicing his opinion, especially when it comes to supporting women’s rights and equality. This time he took to Twitter to slam Ranveer Singh’s new ad campaign for Jack & Jones.
The ad features Ranveer carrying a woman on his shoulder and the caption reads “Don’t hold back, take your work home.”
Isn’t that a bit too suggestive? Siddharth, who found the ad to be distasteful posted on Twitter:
A new low for women’s rights in the workplace in India. What were they thinking? #Fail pic.twitter.com/3PW5mMaKOt

The Danish fashion brand has reportedly pulled off the ad after facing flak on social media. The ad was also reported to the Advertising Standards Council of India. Bestseller India, which markets and sells ‘Jack & Jones’ has apologised for the same. Bestseller India’s country head Vineet Gautam told a website, “As a progressive brand that is loved by youth the world over, we take our responsibility of always being respectful, as seriously as we do our bold attitude. We regret that a billboard of our current campaign has caused people distress. We did not intend to offend anyone, and have discontinued it immediately.”
