SRK’s ‘Raees’ banned in Pakistan for its objectionable content!

The release of the much-awaited film, ‘Raees’ faces big trouble in our neighboring country. This SRK– starrer which was slated to release in Pakistani theaters this week is now banned by the country’s Censor Board for having an “inappropriate” script.

The CBFC said that Rahul Dholakia’s directorial features Muslim Pakistani actress Mahira Khan for which they will not allow the film to release in the country. The reason for the ban also states that, “the information in the movie undermines Islam, and a specific religious sector also portrays Muslims as criminals, wanted persons and terrorists.”

As we all know last week, Prime minister Nawaz Shariff lifted the “ban” by issuing No Objection Certificate to Indian Cinema. Further, it was first ‘Kaabil’ to hit the Pakistan theaters and later cleared Karan Johar’sAe Dil Hai Mushkil’ as well.

Furthermore, Director Rahul Dholakia added, “I am yet to receive a letter from the Pak censor board, but I am shocked by the decision. The film has released in several Muslim-dominated countries like the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, etc. I think this ban will lead to rampant piracy since people across the border will definitely watch it.”

We sure do hope to see green signal for ‘Raees’ soon!
