SLB pays a compensation of 20.80 lakhs to the deceased family!

After the success of ‘Bajirao Mastani’, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has moved to another period drama with ‘Padmavati’. While the film has already been in the news for casting actors like Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, it has also made headlines for the wrong reasons when a laborer, Mukesh Dakia, died while working on the sets about ten days back.

There were reports that Film Studio Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union, (both unions for film workers) had issued a notice to pay compensation to the deceased workers family. Now Bhansali’s production team has provided a compensation of 20.80 lakh for Dakiya’s family, also promising a job for his pregnant wife at the production house.

Dakia’s younger brother, Sunil said, “Nothing can compensate my brother’s loss, but we are glad that Bhansaliji kept his promise. At least, the future of his two sons has been secured. We are thankful to the union for pursuing this with the production house.”
