SIMMBA: Was Abhishek Bachchan the first choice to play the villain?

Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan, is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. And as we all know, Sonu Sood will be playing the lead antagonist in this Rohit Shetty directorial. Now speculations suggest that the villain’s role was initially offered to none other than Abishek Bachchan. And as per a daily, it is also said that Abhishek did not take up on the offer.

Well, it’s still not clear why he declined the offer, but maybe he didn’t want to play a second fiddle to Ranveer Singh. The other actor who was offered the role was R. Madhavan but he too had to say no due to a shoulder injury. On the work-front, Abhishek will reunite with his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for Anurag Kashyap’s Gulab Jamun.
