Sidharth Malhotra & Parineeti’s Shotgun Shaadi gets a NEW NAME!

After the 2014 hit, Hasee to Phasee, Parineeti Chopra & Sidharth Malhotra are all set to unite for an upcoming movie based on the concept of groom kidnapping. The movie, which had the working title of ‘Shotgun Shaadi‘, has been changed to ‘Jabariya Jodi’.

And, guess what? The new title for this movie was suggested by none other than Sidharth himself.

As per a source, “He (Sidharth) came across this word during the readings and told the team about it. They liked it instantly,”

A source was quoted saying, “The movie is based on pakadwa vivaah, the makers felt that this was an apt name. In Bhojpuri, jabariya means zabardasti, so the title refers to a couple who is forced to get married. The two actors have also shot for the posters before leaving for Lucknow, so they should be out soon.”

After the 2014 hit, Ek Villain this will be Sidharth’s second collaboration with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures. In the movie, the actor will be seen speaking Bihari and is even said to have hired a dialect coach to get the nuances of the language right.

Talking about Parineeti Chopra, the actress has quite a few movies lined up in her kitty including, Kesari with Akshay Kumar, Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar with Arjun Kapoor and also, Namaste England. Meanwhile, Sidharth will be seen in the Vikram Batra biopic, co-produced by Dharma Productions.
