SHOCKING! When Mahesh Bhatt’s elder daughter Shaheen tried to commit suicide

Mahesh Bhatt, who has directed many hit movies like Saaransh, Naam and Zakhm, is all set to make his acting debut with The Dark Side Of Life: Mumbai City, directed by Tariq Khan.  The movie deals with social issues like loneliness, communal harmony and mental health. During the trailer launch of his movie, the veteran director discussed about the growing cases of suicides in the society and revealed a shocking incident of his elder daughter Shaheen, who also went through a phase of depression.

While interacting with the media, Mahesh said, “My daughter Shaheen, Alia’s elder sister, she, at the age of 16 discovered finally that she is suffering from clinical depression. In October, she is launching her own memoir in which she has talked about the kind of struggle she has gone through in that phase.”

He further said, “She also came to a point of attempting a suicide at the age of 12-13 so, this is the truth of my own house.”

Coming back to The Dark Side Of Life: Mumbai City, the movie stars Mahesh Bhatt, Kay Kay Menon, Nikhil Ratnaparkhi, Neha Khan and Allisha Khan in pivotal roles. The movie is slated to release in October.
