Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero in legal trouble for allegedly hurting Sikh sentiments

It seems like the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero has landed in trouble even before its release. According to the latest news the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) General Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa has registered a criminal complaint against Shah Rukh Khan and others after the trailer of the film showed the actor wearing a Kirpan in one of the sequences.

Sharing the poster of the film on Facebook, Manjinder S Sirsa wrote, “Shame on Shahrukh Khan on devaluing Sikh Kakaar and hurting Sikh sentiments by showing Kirpaan as a show-off ordinary dagger. Kirpaan can only be worn by a #Khalsa – a pure Human being. I demand Shahrukh Khan & Zero film producer Gauri Khan to immediately withdraw this poster #Zero . We would be forced to take legal action against Zero film team if this poster and promotion is not withdrawn.

Set in the backdrop of Meerut, Zero presents the story of Bauua, a vertically challenged man essayed by Shah Rukh Khan. Directed by Aanand L Rai the movie also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. Zero is set to set to hit the theatres on 21st December 2018.
