SANJU: Rajkumar Hirani has this to say about Salman Khan’s comments
Sanju is all set to release tomorrow, and the excitement among the makers and the audiences is expectedly palpable. We reported a few days ago how Salman Khan said Sanjay Dutt should have played the later portions in his biopic himself. Ranbir Kapoor, who’s essaying the role of Dutt, gave his take on the star’s comments, and now, the film’s director, Rajkumar Hirani, has also spoken about the same.
In one of his interviews, this is what he said about Salman’s comments, “The thought of Sanjay as his older self in the film’s final portions had crossed my mind for a moment, but then I let it go as I felt it would be too abrupt and weird. For one, you are seeing Ranbir as Sanju throughout most of the film, and then suddenly, you see Sanjay playing his older self, which would have automatically disconnected the public’s link with the film.”
There’s hardly anyone who has been critical of Ranbir’s physical resemblance or the meticulous understanding of Dutt’s emotional and turbulent roller-coaster journey. Let’s see whether Sanju is able to re-create the magical touch of Hirani like his earlier films or not.
