Salman Khan reveals how Bollywood can compete with the Chinese box-office
Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars we have, not only in India but internationally as well, especially in China. His film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, shattered all previous records in China and emerged as the highest grossing Indian film of all time there. When asked about the potential of Hindi films in China, this is what the actor said, “China is a good market for our cinema. We have released Bajrangi Bhaijaan. We are releasing Sultan in China and we will release Race 3 also.”
When asked how the industry can compete with China in terms of collections, the actor said, “I think we need to increase our number of theaters. Right now, we are still surviving on around 5,000 screens where China has extended to more than 40,000 screens. So, I think once our screen number increases, we will be able to have such business. With the small number of screens, we are actually doing exceptionally well. So, just imagine, if within 10 to 15 years, we increase the number, we will do great.”
Given the success of Salman’s last few films, it seems he’ll easily reach to the business of China soon!
