Salman to have his own chain of private theatres

Salman Khan is turning into a successful entrepreneur. The actor who was in Delhi last week to launch a jewellery line for his brand Being Human is now all set to have his own chain of private single screen theatres. He is planning to call them Salman Talkies. This decision has been made by the actor for everyone’s convenience since Salman feels that movie tickets in tier one cities have gone up to Rs400-500. A report in a tabloid states that the actor feels that charging such huge amounts for a mere movie ticket is not fair. “If a movie has to flop, the effect of the loss should be as little as possible. ‘Jai Ho’ did a business of 138 crores with tickets priced at rupees 200 and on weekdays the prices were as low as rupees 100. But since we didn’t publicise that fact people said, “Areey, is that the only business? 138 crores is huge. How Many movies touch that kind of figure? ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ made 238 crore but since it did not make as much money as ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, the perception is that it flopped.” Explained the actor. A spokesperson from his charity said “If Salman’s film is to hit a double hundred. He has to do it with Rs 100 ticket. If we can’t touch that figure with this plan, we will try that with another movie. But Salman believes that the ticket prices should be lower than what they are today.”

Interestingly Salman’s chain of theatres will start from this Diwali. He plans to release two big movies, ADHM and ‘Shivaay’ in his cinemas.
