Just about five days ago, we got to see India’s first original Netflix series, Sacred Games making its debut with its first season on the streaming giant’s platform. The web series is being hailed and criticised in equal measures, as we have come to expect from anything that the two Phantom head honchos, Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap are involved in.
But now, in the case of Sacred Games, one might say that the producer-director duo and its lead antagonist, Nawazuddin Siddiqui might be looking at the BIGGEST controversy that they have courted till date.
As it turns out, a West Bengal-based Congress Member that goes by the name of Rajiv Sinha has claimed that Nawazuddin as Ganesh Gaitonde has “abused our late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi calling him fattu, which translated as pu*** in the subtitle”. Additionally, Sinha has also accused the show of “misrepresenting facts during his regime”
