Saare Jahaan Se Achcha: Vicky Kaushal replaces Shah Rukh Khan in this biopic!

Vicky Kaushal is riding high on the historic success of his last release Uri: The Surgical Strike. Well, according to the latest news, the actor has been approached for Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur’s  Saare Jahan Se Accha. For the one who came in now, Aamir Khan was the first one to be approached for the role, but he turned it down. Then, Shah Rukh Khan was considered for the film but the actor suddenly backed out last December as Zero tanked at the box office.

As per the latest news, Vicky has been locked in to play astronaut Rakesh Sharma, whose life the film is based on. The actor will reportedly sign in once his dates are locked.

According to the sources which was quoted saying to a leading daily, “Vicky was the ultimate choice after Shah Rukh opted out. Ronnie has given him his career’s biggest commercial hit in Uri and there’s no way Vicky could have said no, especially for a big-budget film like Saare Jahaan Se Achcha.”

Director Mahesh Mathai is believed to have worked on this story for many years and it was disappointing for Ronnie and Siddharth after Aamir Khan backed out first and then SRK.
