Robot 2.0 crosses the 100 Crore mark even before the film releases

The masterpiece of 2010, Enthiran The Robot, which starred Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai, did stellar business at the box office. It was a no-brainer that there will be a sequel which was waiting to happen. There were only speculations and sheer excitement until filmmaker Shankar cleared all doubts with the official announcement of 2.0. It is stated to be the costliest film so far in the industry.

Did you know, it has already minted money?

Turns out, Zee Television has already bagged in the Sattelite rights of the Hindi, Tamil and Telegu version of the Akshay Kumar and Rajnikanth Starrer for a whopping sum of 110 crores. This is probably the quickest 100+ crores ever made by any Indian Movie! The rights are purchased for 15 years.

The creative head for Lyca productions, Raju Mahalingam said that these are just the satellite rights for the said amount. They are in talks with Amazon Prime and Netflix for the digital rights as well.
