REVEALED: Akshay Kumar’s character in Gold!

While there has been immense excitement taking Excel Entertainment’s upcoming sports drama Gold starring Akshay Kumar, it is Akshay’s quirky Tapan Das that has been creating buzz across quarters.

Contrary to popular belief, Tapan, portrayed by Akshay Kumar is the manager of the Indian Hockey team who plays the most important role in forming the team and leading them to the victory. The teaser and trailer gave us glimpses of the determined manager wanting to win free India’s first Gold. On the other hand, all this while, we were under the assumption that the Pad Man of India will be seen essaying the character of a coach.

While Akshay Kumar plays the manager, it is, in fact, Kunal Kapoor, who will be seen playing the coach of the team. Actors Amit Sadh, Vineet Singh and Sunny Kaushal and others, who form the rest of the cast of the biographical period drama will be seen as the players in the team.

Excel Entertainment’s sports drama starring takes the audience back in time to witness the struggle of a team to make the nation proud.

‘Gold‘ starring Akshay Kumar releases this Independence Day being the perfect Independence day release as it marks 70 years of Free India’s first Gold medal.

Gold is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, helmed by Reema Kagti and is all set to release on the 15th August 2018.
