Ranveer Singh to be awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award!
Someone has truly said- When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. This saying stands true for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Padmaavat, which released on the 25th of January this year, after being surrounded in a massive controversy fuelled by the fringe group, Karni Sena. The one actor who won the maximum accolades and applauds was the antagonist of the film, Ranveer Singh, who portrayed the ruthless and hideous Alauddin Khilji.
His inimitable style of saying Duniya ki har nayab cheez par sirf Alauddin ka haq hai is still fresh in people’s memories and talking about Nayab, it’s confirmed that Ranveer Singh will be bestowed with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award for his extraordinary performance in Padmaavat. With this feat, Ranveer Singh has truly consolidated his position in the industry as the man who could be the next superstar. Tirelessly working in the industry for the last eight years, Ranveer is known for effortlessly slipping into the nuances of the characters he portrays on the silver screen and making them his own.
Having said that, the actor also has some of the most interesting films lined-up for releases. He would be seen first in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, which is releasing on the 28th of December, 2018. This would be followed by Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, coming on the 14th of Feb, 2019. His toughest role as an actor would come on the 30th of August, 2019, when he transforms himself as Kapil Dev for Kabir Khan’s 83’, a biopic on the former Indian Captain.
