Is Ranbir Kapoor miffed with Anurag Basu?
Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu is that one actor-director combination which was applauded for their collaborative work in the critically acclaimed film Barfi! It was then that the two had built a great professional relationship. But, something doesn’t seem right between the two on the professional front, courtesy Jagga Jasoos.
Jagga Jasoos is also that one film which has never failed to make headlines due to it probably being the last film which will star ex-flames Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, the first production venture undertaken by Ranbir Kapoor and the constant delays in its release. Don’t be surprised if you see the film shift its release date again! This constant date shift has always left us disappointed and disheartened, and it’s the same thing that probably RK Jr. is feeling right now. Rumour has it that Ranbir is getting really restless and worked up due to the delay which is being caused by director Anurag Basu.
A source close to the affair reveals “Ranbir shares a great relationship with Anurag Basu and hence when he decided to bankroll the first film under his production house, he chose Jagga Jasoos. However, he is not happy with the delay in the film’s release. He knows how it is affecting audiences’ interest levels and creating preconceived notions about the project which is not good news for the film. He is worried as a producer and he has also voiced his concern with Basu.”
The source also revealed that Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu are not on the same page with regards to a few creative decisions around the film which caused, you guessed it, further delay in the film. Now we wonder if the actor-director duo will ever work again. It’s understandable that Ranbir Kapoor won’t be happy with his director since Jagga Jasoos is a film which is close to Ranbir as an actor as well as a producer.
Will we finally see Jagga Jasoos in theatres on July 14th? Let’s wait with our fingers crossed.
