His horror comedy Stree, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor, has crossed the 100-crore mark and is still doing well at the box office. Rajkummar is currently on a roll and has reportedly hiked his fee to almost five times his usual price.
Talking about it a, close source was quoted saying to a leading daily, “He used to charge around Rs 40-50 lakhs for each film. This was till ‘Fanney Khan’. Even after his glorious run last year at the movies and even though his last few films were appreciated, it weren’t breaking box office digits. But for ‘Stree’, Raj and DK got him at a higher price, somewhere around Rs 70 lakhs, whereas Shraddha charged somewhere in the tune of Rs 2 crore.”
The source further added, “He is now asking for around Rs 3.5-4 crore for each film, and is up for a bit of negotiation. But he recently refused a producer who was willing to offer him even Rs 2 crore, which is almost thrice his usual amount.”
Rajkummar has a few movies lined up in his kitty, Made in China, opposite Mouni Roy, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga alongside Sonam Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. He also has Mental Hai Kya coming up with Kangana Ranaut. Meanwhile, the makers of Stree are also planning for a sequel to the movie which is said to go on floors by the end of 2019.
