Rajkumar Hirani all set to make Munna Bhai 3
Remember how the makers of the Munna Bhai franchise, helmed by director Rajkumar Hirani, unveiled the teaser of the third film in the series, Munna Bhai Chale Amerika, back in 2007? Unfortunately, the film was shelved because of two reasons. One, Sanjay Dutt’s impending imprisonment in the 1993 Bombay Blasts Case and two; the story was way too similar to Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan, which had already released when Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi were during the initial stages of the film.
That said and done, the director of the immensely successful franchise has confirmed that Munna Bhai 3 will surely be made. In one of his interviews, the director stated, “We wanted to do the third Munna Bhai film and even wrote a lot of it, but we were not able to match the script with the first two. Now, I have found something, though we still have to write it.”
After the cult of Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. and Lage Raho Munna Bhai, let’s see whether the third film will be able to recreate the magic or not.
Currently, Rajkumar Hirani is busy with the post production of Sanju, the Sanjay Dutt biopic everyone has been waiting for, releasing on the 29th of June, 2018.
