RACE 3: Salman Khan & family fail to beat Rajinikanth in Chennai
Race 3 has received a tepid response from the critics and the audiences haven’t been lenient either. However, those hardcore Salman Khan fans, as expected, thronged to the cinemas and made the film quite a big success within the weekend itself. The total weekend collections of this thriller were around 180 crores worldwide.
Alas, there’s one territory where Bhai and his family couldn’t spell their charm and that was Chennai. Yes, that’s right. Despite being in its second week, Rajinikanth’s Kaala continued to be at the No. 1 spot at the Chennai box-office and proved once again that no one can beat the Thalaivaa down south. A known columnist and writer, Sreedhar Pillai, tweeted about the Top 5 movies at the Chennai box-office this weekend. Have a look right here:-
Top 5 at Chennai Box-Office (June 15-17) No. 5 #IrumbuThirai, No.4 #JurassicWorldFallenKingdom, No.3 #GoliSoda2, No.2 #Race3, No.1 #Kaala

Meanwhile, Race 3 has fared pretty well on its first Monday and raked in over 14 crores, as we have already reported. But will it emerge as Salman’s highest grosser of all time? Let’s see.
